Dear All population geneticists/Hei Kaikki populaatiaogenetiikot Tomorrow at 1 pm we meet to have coffee and cakes to celebrate the Academy funding of several research groups in the Genetics corridor through direct funding to Oulu (and via collaboration with Jyväskylä, Päivi and Pekka). WE MEET AT THE ROOMS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, SO THAT ALL GENETICISIST CAN ATTEND. FOLLOW THE CORRIDOR AFTER HUMU-KUPPILA, UNTIL THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT KAHVILA, THEN ENTER AT RIGHT - THERE WILL BE A SIGN AT THE DOOR. This can also be a starting discussion for the new population genetics research group. WELCOME ALL! OUTI Hi, Many of you have heard that the department should be organized in various research groups (about 6-8). One of them is GENETICS. The enclosed file contains the names of the people who were originally listed in GENETICS or whose names I have added (mainly post docs and doctoral students). Note that one vacant teaching position can be filled for the spring 5 mo. Päivi Forsman has been proposed to take on this, dealing mainly with Genetiikan perusteiden harjoitukset. Our group is then together responsible for some teaching assignments, genetics courses and some molecular biology methods If your name is missing, please let me know so we can add you. If you think you belong elsewhere, please discuss this also.
