We are pleased with the significant improvement in the average time from submission to first decision. At 35 days, it is the best turnaround time since the journal began keeping records. This is largely due to your efforts; we're grateful for your dedication to our journal.  

Note also our increasing standards. We rely on you to maintain — hopefully improve — the quality and significance of papers published in our journal, and we appreciate your collaboration in this cause. Your efforts are well-invested in GENETICS because all decisions on manuscripts are made, based on your recommendation, by editors who are practicing scientists — peers of you and the authors (see http://www.genetics.org/cgi/content/full/181/2/355).
