Yesterday I received a phone call from a sales representative for Life Technologies (Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems). They are offering free thermocyclers (either Veriti or 2720) with the purchase 8 or 12 packs of AmpliTaq Gold polymerase (12x 250 units each pack). Maybe we could manage to order them between the different research groups and get a free thermocycler that everyone can use. In order to get the free thermocycler we would have to place the 8 or 12 packs in the same order, so we would have to coordinate between the different research groups before ordering.
