Hi geneticists,

Tuulikki informed me (on Wednesday) about growing facilities and teaching lab facilities during the renovation. I understood that there are no major changes to the earlier plans about growing facilities.

Drosophila maintenance will be in the 4th floor in biochemistry department.

YB204, PT205, PT206, YB207 will be in use until new facilities are available.

PT211-213 - it is not sure that these will be available, the situation depends on the need. If somebody needs them, it would be wise to contact Tuulikki.

KS401 and KS402 will be in use.

The three KS rooms in ET102 will not be in use.

KE1149 in chemistry department will be available for teaching, as well as a smaller room in the second floor for lab courses. Tuulikki was wondering if more space would be needed for lab courses. I informed her that our lab courses in Basics of genetics and Practicals in molecular methods 1 need space for at least 16 students, and preferably for 20. The course Practicals in population genetics also needs space but I do not know the typical number of students.

Regards, Helmi
