The Graduate School of Population Genetics will have a course on gene mapping at the Perämeri Research Station in Hailuoto in November 17-19 (Wednesday to Friday). The course will start Wednesday morning in such a way that it is possible to arrive from Oulu in the morning. The graduate school covers the travel and accomodation expenses.
The detailed schedule will be given later, and the teachers are:
Vesa Ollikainen (Centre for Scientific Computing, CSC) will lecture on gene mapping with practical examples using the programs of CSC, on Wednesday and Thursday. A computer class will be moved from Oulu to Hailutoto for the course.
Mikko Sillanpää (Dept of Mathematics and Statistics of Helsinki University) will lecture on association mapping
David Remington (University of Greensboro) will lecture on QTL mapping
