Hi, PRO-GRADU PROJECT ON Wnt4 signaling in adult kidney. A Pro-gradu student positions are available in Developmental Biology research group in the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, University of Oulu. The pro-gradu projects will focus on understanding how Wnt4 is implicated in the development of chronic kidney disease. We are especially interested in the role of Wnt4 signaling and its interacting partners carrying different experiment based on cell lines and mouse line using Western blot, qPCR and pull-down assay followed by ChIPqCR. [20.6 event] OYY:n Koronakyselyn tulokset / OYY Corona Poll Results

[ENGLISH BELOW] Heipä hei histonit! Huhtikuussa OYY järjesti kyselyn, jossa selviteltiin koronan vaikutusta opiskelijoiden opintoihin ja hyvinvointiin. Kyselyn tulokset ovat löydettävissä osoitteesta https://www.oyy.fi/ylioppilaskunnan-koronakyselyn-tulokset-on-nyt-julkaistu/. Näistä tuloksista on mm. nähtävissä, että noin kolmasosalla vastaajista on ollut vaikeuksia edistää opintojaan, ohjauksen ja tuen kaipuu mm. eristyksessä olemiseen, sekä stressi-, motivaatio-, ja elämänhallintaongelmien lisääntyminen. Kyselyyn vastasi 1603 opiskelijaa, eli 12% kaikista Oulun yliopiston opiskelijoista. 7% vastaajista vastasi kyselyyn englanniksi ja 93% suomeksi. 2% kaikista vastaajista olivat BMTK:lta. Kyselyssä on kysytty poikkeusolojen vaikutusta opiskeluun, etäopiskelun kuormittavuutta, kuinka hyvin tiedekunta ja yliopisto on tiedottanut ohjeistaan ja linjauksistaan poikkeusoloihin ja opintojaksoihin nähden. Kyselyyn kuuluu kaikkiaan 15 kysymystä, ja kysely on nähtävissä aiemmin linkatulta sivulta löydettävän raportin lopusta. Suurin osa BMTK:n vastaajista ovat kokeneet saaneensa hyvin tietoa yliopiston ja tiedekunnan linjauksista tilanteeseen sekä opintojaksojen suorittamisesta. Opintojaksojen työmäärän kasvulla ei monen mukaan ollut suurta vaikutusta (47/100) vastatessa ettei se ole vaikeuttanut eikä helpottanut opintoja ja 30 vastatessa etteivät osaa sanoa työmäärän lisääntymisen vaikutuksesta. 7 koki työmäärän kasvun lievästi helpottavaksi, 13 lievästi vaikeuttavaksi, ja 3 merkittävästi vaikeuttavaksi. Vastaajien mukaan etäopetus on koettu hyvin järjestetyksi. Opintojaksojen järjestelyiden joustavuutta ei kukaan vastanneista kokenut vaikeuttavaksi. Terveisin Manu Markkanen, infojäbä Hope y'all are doing well! In April the Oulu student union made a poll regarding the effects of corona on student well-being and studies. The results of the poll can be found at https://www.oyy.fi/the-results-of-the-corona-survey-by-the-student-union-ha…. The results show difficulties in furthering studies, longing for more guidance and support regarding issues such as isolation, and an increase in stress-, motivation-, and life management issues. The poll was answered by 1603 students (12% of all Oulu University students). 7% of the responders answered in English and 93% in Finnish. 2% of the responders were from FBMM. The poll's questions were directed at the effect of current circumstances on studies, the strain of distanced learning, and how well the university and faculty had informed students about the actions because of the circumstances, including actions regarding course completion. The poll contained 15 questions and can be found at the bottom of the report found in the link discussed prior. Most of the responders from FBMM have felt that they've been informed well over circumstantial actions and the completion of courses. An increase in course workload has not been seen to affect many of the responders (47/100). 30 of the responders couldn't say whether it made their studies easier or harder. 7 experienced the increase as slightly helpful, 13 slightly harmful, and 3 as highly harmful towards their studies. The responders experienced distanced teaching to be arranged well. The flexibility of course arrangement wasn't found to increase difficulty in completing studies by any of the responders. IMPORTANT! Dear All, Thanks for participating the teaching feedback day. We had a nice discussion based on what was brought forward by students and teachers.
