We will have a BCO seminar on Thursday at 15.15. The speaker is Dr. Jan-Metske van der Laan from DSM Biotechnology Center, R&D, Delft, the Netherlands.
The title of his presentation is “Structure inspired enzyme engineering for industrial fitness” . It is very interesting to have a speaker from a multinational biotech company to tell about the important field of protein engineering. Dr. van der Laan has filed over 40 patents.
The DSM Biotechnology Center is the center for biotechnological Research and Development (R&D) within DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials (http://www.dsm.com/corporate/about/our-company/what-we-do.html) .
The place is Lecture hall PR101, Linnanmaa Campus. There is bus transportation from the Medical Campus Aapistie 5A to Linnanmaa Door J at 14.45, and back at about 16.15 from Door J (Biochemistry) to Aapistie 5A. Coffee and pulla is served before the seminar for enjoyable networking.
The seminars are open to everybody and no registration is required. We encourage all the project leaders, coordinators, post docs and students to take advantage of this possibility and to participate in the seminars!
