Manager position open at the Institute of Biotechnology (University of Helsinki) Protein Chemistry and Proteomics Facility (PCPF)
The Institute of Biotechnology Protein Chemistry and Proteomics Facility (PCPF) provides Finnish researchers access to unparalleled mass spectrometric equipment, state-of-the-art protein and peptide separation equipment that can be applied to a wide variety of low- to high-throughput analyses. Work involves developing and managing the analysis equipment and computational infrastructure of PCPF. Protein Chemistry and Proteomics Facility is situated at the Institute of the Biotechnology, University of Helsinki Viikki Campus. The PCPF is located adjacent to the research group headed by Dr. Varjosalo.
The successful candidate will work under the Head of the Facility, Dr. Markku Varjosalo, to develop, manage and maintain the equipment infrastructure of PCPF. In addition, he or she will plan and implement new automation, sample analysis and data analysis pipelines.
Qualifications The applicants should have a minimum of Masters degree or equivalent in chemistry, biochemistry or engineering sciences. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral training are considered a benefit. Experience in developing or operating mass spectrometry instruments and analysis techniques, and good communication in English is required. Individuals interested in combining the work with advanced studies will also be considered.
