PROJECT
COORDINATOR POSITION IN BIOMEDICUM GENOMICS
Biomedicum
Genomics (BMGen) is a comprehensive functional genomics service provider
operating in BioŽmedicum Helsinki at the UniverŽsity of Helsinki. BMGen
provides and develops functional genomics services, service packages and
cusŽtomized solutions for molecular profiling of the genome and for functional
gene analyses using lentiviral loss (RNAi) and gain of function genetics. The
unit currently employs staff of 13 molecular biologists, bioinformaticians and
research assistants.
Project
coordinator position is immediately available in Biomedicum Genomics. A
successful candidate has a degree in M.Sc. or applied sciences in the field of
molecular or cell biology. The candidate should have experience in cell culture
techniques, working with animal models and thorough knowledge in basic
molecular biology techniques. This position requires excellent coordinator,
team working and communication skills.
This
position will offer you a unique possibility to develop your skills and
knowledge in wide variety of different areas of functional genomics and
coordinate contract research projects targeting national and international
customers. Job involves day-to-day interaction with customers and hands-on
participation in customized projects. Your work will mainly focus on managing
and implementing in vivo experiments with genetically engineered mouse models
including flow cytometric and cell sorting analyses. Position will also include
developing new services in Biomedicum Genomics. Successful implementation of
your tasks will require ability to work independently and in a team of
scientific researchers and research assistants who will work with you in
providing and developing functional genomics products and services.
The
deadline for the application is February 28, 2010 but the position will be
filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
