Dear all,
The university has clarified when international MSc students do not have to pay fees for the 3rd year (see end of this message). This has important implications for Pro Gradu work.
Now, so long as ALL work is submitted during the 2nd year (academic year ends 31st July) students will not have to pay fees for the 3rd year. It no longer has to be marked and the degree
awarded by the end of the 2nd year.
Given the possible paperwork involved in showing that fees do not have to be paid and to avoid potential last minute delays in submitting the thesis (resulting in large bills for fees if it goes into August) my advice
is that all fee paying students aim to submit their thesis (and all other work) by 30th June at the latest.
Still this is a big change and I know will come as a relief to many.
Best wishes,
Lloyd
