Ph.D. STUDENT AND A POST DOCTORAL FELLOW Positions available immediately at the laboratory headed by Prof. Jussi Taipale (http://research.med.helsinki.fi/gsb/taipale/) at the Genome-Scale Biology Program of the University of Helsinki. The main focus of the research of the laboratory is systems biology of growth control and cancer. The aim is to identify the molecular mechanisms by which growth is controlled during normal development and cancer.
The laboratory is part of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Cancer Genetics Research that is directed at identifying genetic causes of cancer and studying the mechanisms of cancer using functional genomics and systems biology.
Research in the laboratory combines both experimental and in silico analyses, and therefore applicants with strong backgrounds molecular biology/biochemistry, genomics, genetics, medicine or computer science who are interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment are particularly encouraged to apply.
