FIMM is currently seeking PhD Students in Personalized Cancer Medicine.
FIMM is a multi-disciplinary research institute combining high-quality science with state-of-the art technologies with the goal of building a bridge from biomedical research and discovery to medical applications. FIMM works together with the Helsinki Biomedical Graduate School (HBGS, www.hbgs.helsinki.fi) and other graduate programs to provide excellent research training and courses aiming at a PhD degree from the University of Helsinki.
We currently have openings for stipend-based PhD students in three collaborative projects specifically involving the Kallioniemi, Wennerberg, Heckman and Knowles research groups in the areas of Medical Systems Biology and Translational Research, with joint efforts in personalized medicine-oriented projects.
Candidates should have a relevant academic degree (MSc, MD or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, medicine or other related fields, obtained before the starting date or during the spring semester 2011, in which case the projects provide an opportunity to conduct masterís thesis. Prior experience with cell culture and cell biological techniques and expertise in DNA, RNA and protein work is expected. Application deadline is January 20, 2011.
