A PhD student position is available in a joint project by the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Helsinki and School of Health and Medical Sciences, Örebro University. The work is a part of a highly innovative project studying the relation between intestinal microbes, gut integrity and gut-brain signalling in Irritable Bowel Syndrome and will be supervised by professor Riitta Korpela (Helsinki) and professor Robert-J Brummer (Örebro). Applicant should be able to stay in Örebro during a considerable part of the project. Starting date is negotiable and can begin immediately.

Applicants who hold an academic degree (M.Sc., MD or equivalent) will be considered. Experience in basic molecular and immunological methods and/or human studies is an advantage. The salary is based on the University of Helsinki salary system and depends on qualifications.
