POST-DOCTORAL AND PhD STUDENT OPPORTUNITY IN COMPLEX DISORDERS
A researcher position is available in the research group of Professor Juha Kere at Biomedicum Helsinki, University of Helsinki. Both post-doc and graduate student level appointments are possible. The group is focused on understanding the functions of susceptibility genes for complex disorders, such as asthma and psoriasis. We combine genomics, molecular biology, epidemiology and clinical samples to identify genes, proteins and biochemical pathways that are involved in disease pathogenesis. We collaborate with other groups at Biomedicum and Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm) to combine expertise for problem solving. Our research is funded by Academy of Finland, Sigrid Jusélius Foundation and other sources.
We seek a person with genuine motivation in scientific research with a Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, medicine or related field. A successful applicant should have a good practical and theoretical knowledge in molecular and cellular biology. Previous experience in RNAi methods is appreciated.
The position is for 2-3 years and available immediately. The salary is based on the University of Helsinki salary system and depends on qualifications.
