A post doctoral fellow and a PhD student positions funded by the Academy of Finland are available in the studies of transcriptional regulation of B cell development group led by Professor of Immunobiology Olli Lassila at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, University of Turku. The postdoctoral position will be filled for 2 years, with a possibility of extension. Funding for the PhD student is for four years of full time studies. The research group focuses on transcriptional regulation of B cell development and B cell to plasma cell differentiation using reverse genetic approaches with the DT40 system. The group is dynamic and internationally recognized in the field. Applicants should have strong backgrounds in molecular biology and proven track record of successful scientific work for the post doc and high motivation for the PhD student. Prior knowledge on immunology will be an advantage.
The post doctoral salary will be based on level 5 and the PhD salary will be based on level 2 of the demands level chart for teachers and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointees will be paid a salary component based on personal performance, which can be at most 46% of the basic level salary.
