A PhD student position is available in the University of Helsinki Cancer Gene Therapy Group (CGTG), led by Akseli Hemminki, MD, PhD. CGTG is located in Haartman Institute (Haartmaninkatu 3) on the Helsinki Academic Medical Campus in Meilahti, Helsinki, Finland. Our research involves oncolytic viruses and adaptive cell therapies such as T-cell therapy, and their interplay. All projects relate to cancer and most projects have a strong immunological focus. What is expected of you:

·         a completed or nearly completed Master’s degree or equivalent from a biological, biomedical or medical sciences field.

·         high motivation level and work morale.

·         some previous experience in cell culture, animal work, immunology, molecular cloning or virology is required.

·         experience in laboratory work, writing manuscripts or assembling scientific data will count in your favor

·         adequate written and oral skills in the English language
