A PhD student position is available in the research group of Professor Perttu Lindsberg, in the Research Program of Molecular Neurology, part of the Research Programs Unit, University of Helsinki. We are hoping to
find an energetic and driven researcher to work on two translational research projects focused on developing new biomarkers for stroke and carotid atherosclerosis. Work will include biomarker discovery, large scale validation of existing biomarker candidates
and managing our sample libraries.
A successful applicant will have a M.Sc. degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or an equivalent closely related field. We are primarily looking for a student with at least 1-2 years of previous laboratory
work experience, and the candidate must be able to perform basic protein chemistry techniques fluently, especially ELISA analyses. An organized, independent and problem solving work attitude is required, and the applicant should have a fearless outlook towards
improving existing methodology. We are aiming to fill the position as soon as possible.
Our group offers a chance to work together with clinicians in a truly translational setting, with the excellent resources of Biomedicum Helsinki, at the Meilahti campus.
