What is BioCamp?

The Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three- day seminar that brings the biotechnology sector closer to talented students from top universities around the world. Held at Novartis International Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, the program offers participants an opportunity to:

- Interact with key Novartis scientists who lead our unique approach to drug discovery

- Learn about breakthrough new medicines to address patients‘ unmet medical needs

- Understand trends and challenges in the biotechnology sector

- Receive first-hand experience about starting and running a biotech company

- Explore career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries

- Network with talented students from other countries

BioCamp provides an opportunity for a select group of talented university students to learn about the multifaceted world of biotechnology. They will gain insights into current and future challenges in the sector and acquire first-hand experience on starting and managing a biotechnology company.

BioCamp has been sponsored annually by several Novartis affiliates since 2004, and the first European BioCamp was held in Switzerland in 2007. Finland was represented in 2008 by Suvi Heinonen and Topi Korhonen and in 2009 by Outi Koskela.
