Subject: [Bco] Graduate student position in the novel target molecules
research group. Kuopio
Project
title: Characterization of glioma stem cells
Our
research focuses on identification and characterization of molecules associated
with cancer initiation, invasion and metastasis. Currently, our main interest
is in the biology of malignant glioma. We also are interested in targeted
cancer therapeutics i.e. delivery of e.g. gene therapy vectors,
chemotherapeutics and siRNAs, with the aid of homing peptides.
We
are looking for highly motivated and hard-working candidate to a project
characterizing stem cells of malignant brain tumors and development of targeted
therapies to gliomas. The research employs biochemical, molecular biology, cell
culture and biomedical imaging methods as well as animal work.
The
positions will be filled immediately after suitable person will be found.
The
site of research is the A.I. Virtanen Institute, University of Eastern Finland,
Kuopio.
