Dear Student,

We are looking for a motivated student for a Pro Gradu project that is available in Prof. Johanna Myllyharju’s lab under my supervision. We study the role of  different enzymes involved in collagen synthesis. In this project you would study the function of some of these enzymes using lentiviral knockdown in cultured mammalian cells. You would then analyze the cells and the extracellular matrix they produce using various stainings for light- and electron microscopy. You would also get a chance to perform different biochemical methods such as quantitative-PCR, Western blot etc. Any previous cell culture experience in an advantage.
