A 4-year PhD student position is available in a Prostate Cancer Biomarker �group led by Prof. Hans Lilja and Prof. Tapio Visakorpi at the Institute of Biomedical Technology (www.uta.fi/ibt), University of Tampere, Tampere, Finland.
The research group focuses on discovery and validation of prostate cancer biomarkers that identify clinically significant cancer more accurately than the markers currently used in the clinic. The group is a member of a comprehensive translational prostate cancer research program, TPCRP, conducted at the Tampere medical campus (www.uta.fi/ibt/institute/projects/TPCRP/).
The salary will be based on level 2 of the demands level chart for teachers and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance.
