Dear all,
A few issues.
BSc final examination. You are allowed to take into this examination 1 sheet of A4 on which you can have anything you like written i.e. a crib sheet. You can write on both sides.
Pro Gradu project. A maximum of 6 months lab work can be reported in the thesis (you can do less if you want, but the grading is based on 6 months). It is possible to include an appendix to the thesis from work on the same project obtained after the 6 month period. The appendix is not part of the graded thesis. Such appendices should be rare (see me if you want more info on these). You MUST get a study plan approved by me BEFORE starting your thesis work. This is free format, usually 1.5-2 pages in length. It must include at the start, the supervisor name, position and lab address (dept/institute) and the start date. I try to turn these around quickly, but please submit early (preferably at least 2 weeks before you want to start). If, as advised, you do your last orientation in the same group as you do your pro gradu please note that work done during the orientation CANNOT be reported in the thesis. You are advised to use this orientation to familiarize yourself with the group and the techniques you will use. The code of practice for Pro Gradu can be found on our web pages: http://www.biochem.oulu.fi/studies/erikoistyo/index_e.html
