A PhD student and a post doctoral researcher position are available in the Biomolecular materials group at Aalto University. The group is led by professor Markus Linder and works as a part of the Center of Excellence in “Molecular engineering of biosynthetic hybrid materials” (hyber.aalto.fi) and the strategic research opening on Synthetic  Biology - Living Factories. The group uses biomimetics and synthetic biology to design and understand how high-performance functions evolve in natural materials.

For this position the work involves using recombinant DNA techniques to design and produce molecules for bioinspired materials.  Successful candidates should have a background in biochemistry or related fields and be eager to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
