Opiskelija, ilmoittaudu airueksi!

Opiskelija, tule airueksi Oulun yliopiston yhdenteentoista tohtoripromootioon. Airuena toimiminen on hieno tilaisuus päästä näkemään akateemisen maailman hienoin juhla.

Oulun yliopiston yhdestoista, kaikkien tiedekuntien yhteinen tohtoripromootio järjestetään 27.-29.5.2022. Promootio on arvokkain ja perinteikkäin akateeminen juhla, jossa vihitään tiedekuntien kutsumat kunniatohtorit sekä vuosina 2017–2019 väitelleet nuoret tohtorit.

Kutsumme nyt yliopiston opiskelijoita mukaan airueksi toteuttamaan arvokasta juhlaa! Airuilla on tärkeä rooli tohtoripromootion tapahtumapäivien eri tilaisuuksissa. Airuiden tehtäviä ovat mm. kunniavartio tilaisuuksien aikana, vieraiden vastaanotto ja opastus, miekanhiojaisissa ja promootioaktissa avustaminen sekä muu yleinen opastus päivällisillä ja tanssiaisissa. Tehtävissä airuita ohjaa tohtoripromootion yliairut Johanna Bluemink. Etsimme airueita tasaisesti yliopiston kaikista tiedekunnasta. Toivomme airueilta itseohjautuvuutta ja periksi antamattomuutta. Ainutlaatuisen kokemuksen ja uusien tuttavuuksien lisäksi airuet saavat ajastaan ja työpanoksestaan työtodistuksen ja UniOulu collegepaidan. Airueiksi osallistuneille järjestetään lisäksi kiitosjuhla, karonkka, tohtoripromootiopäivien jälkeen.

Ilmoittautuneille airuille järjestetään tohtoripromootion infotilaisuudet. Lisäksi tulemme järjestämään harjoituksia Oulun Tuomiokirkossa huhti-toukokuussa.

Become a student herald in the conferment ceremony!

Young doctors celebrate their achievements at the 11th conferment ceremony of the University of Oulu in May. Conferment ceremony is the classiest and most traditional ceremony of the academia. Become a student herald and get to experience the event from within.

The 11th Doctoral Conferment Ceremony of the University of Oulu will be arranged jointly by all Faculties, on three consecutive days from 27th to 29th of May 2022. The official inauguration, the act of promotion, is the biggest and most dignified academic tradition, which follows mostly a 700-year-old tradition.

In the Conferment Ceremony, young doctors will be inaugurated, and they will receive the title of a doctor in addition to the top hat and sword, the symbols of their title. This three-day festivity includes the Sword-Whetting event on Friday, procession, ecumenical church service, and a ball on Saturday and a short sailing trip on Sunday. 

We are now inviting students to join as Heralds to enable the organization of the event. The tasks of Heralds include keeping up the tradition, representing the university of Oulu, receiving guests and helping in any practical arrangements during the days. The Heralds will be led by Chief Marshal Johanna Bluemink.

We are looking for Heralds from every faculty. We expect you to be self-acting and persistent. In addition to new friends and a unique experience, you will receive a diploma and UniOulu college shirt. There will also be a thank you party, karonkka, for every Heralds after the Conferment Ceremony. Info sessions for for registered Heralds will be held after registration. There are also rehearsals at Oulu Cathedral during April-May.
