Subject: [Bco] PhD student position at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Oulu

A PhD student position is available at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Oulu starting from January 1st, 2010.

The student will be working on a yeast/mouse crossover project concerned with the function of mitochondrial fatty acid synthesis, using gene knockdown, knockout and gene replacement approaches. We are looking for a highly motivated student with experience in biochemistry, yeast genetics and molecular biology, and cell culture work. The position is funded by the Academy of Finland initially for three years, with the possibility to extend to five years.
