There is a pro gradu project available in Prof. Johanna Myllyharju’s group at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. More info about the research in Myllyharju group can be found from Biocenter Oulu web page http://www.oulu.fi/biocenter/groups/myllyharju

This pro gradu project will be about the roles of collagen prolyl 4-hydroxylase isoenzymes. This project is heavily based on use of different transgenic mouse models. Methods in this project will include establishment of primary cell lines from mouse embryos and tissues, histological staining of mouse tissues, RNA extraction and quantitative PCR, Western blot, collagen analysis by different methods etc.
