POST-DOC AND PhD STUDENT POSITIONS IN CANINE DISEASE GENOMICS
Two post-doctoral or PhD student positions are available in the Canine Genomics Laboratory of Hannes Lohi at the Department of Medical Genetics and Basic Veterinary Sciences at the University of Helsinki and Folkhälsan Research Institute, Helsinki, Finland. The projects are focused on molecular genetics of canine epilepsies and developmental disorders as models for human corresponding diseases. The projects will involve genome-wide association studies to map and identify new genes followed by their functional characterizations. Positions are available starting from June 1, 2009 and candidates will be considered until the positions are filled.
We are looking for ambitious, hard-working and innovative candidates with experience in genetics and molecular biology is desirable and experience in statistical analyses will be a strong asset.
