Institute of Biomedicine, University of Turku opens up a position of a senior researcher for a period of 1.5.2014 - 31.12.2016 in the research group lead by Professor Klaus Elenius.

The projects deals with characterization of resistance mechanisms and predictive biomarkers for targeted cancer drugs. In addition, the projects aims at discovery of novel cancer drug targets. The project is based on recent findings about EGFR-targeting drugs and colorectal cancer cells made in the Elenius laboratory.

The candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree and a strong background in molecular cancer biology. Previous experience in signal transduction analysis, systems biology techniques, and in vivo cancer models will be regarded as merits. The candidate is also expected to provide laboratory guidance for undergraduate and postdoctoral students in the laboratory.

The salary for a senior researcher will be according to the task levels 5 - 6 for research and teaching personnel in the University Salary system (2820,64 - 3293,22 €/month). In addition, a surplus based on the personal performance level, which is at maximum 46,3% of the task level, will be paid. Trial period will be 3 months.
