Metsähallitus, Oulun kaupunki, Transtech yms. etsivät lahjakkaita opiskelijoita muuttamaan maailmaa!
Haluatko oppia tekemisen kautta, parantaa työelämävalmiuksia, kehittää kykyäsi ratkoa ongelmia, tiimityöskentelytaitoja ja esiintymisvalmiuksia? Demola
Oulu tarjoaa kaikkea tätä + 5op + mahdollisuuden tienata hieman rahaa.
Demola koostaa eri alojen opiskelijoista monitieteellisiä ja -kulttuurisia projektiryhmiä, jotka ratkovat työelämälähtöisiä avoimia ongelmia
ja tarjoavat niihin innovatiivisia ratkaisumalleja yritysten ja organisaatioiden hyödynnettäväksi.
Opiskelijat toimivat ryhmissä oman alansa asiantuntijoina, jolloin he saavat arvokkaita tilaisuuksia soveltaa oppimaansa käytännössä ja kehittää tiimityöskentelytaitojaan aidoissa työelämälähtöisissä projekteissa.
Demola tarjoaa opiskelijoille ainutlaatuisen ikkunan työelämään ja kansainväliseen projektityöskentelyyn sekä mahdollisuuden solmia uusia
verkostoja. Opiskelijat saavat opinnoistaan opintopisteitä, mutta myös rahallista korvausta, mikäli asiakas haluaa lisensoida opiskelijoiden tuotoksen. Opintojen yhteyteen on myös mahdollista kytkeä opinnäytetöitä.
Demola etsii parhaillaan opiskelijoita kevään 2018 ensimmäisen kauden (tammi-maaliskuu) projekteihin. Hakuaika päättyy 11.1.2018 klo

Metsähallitus
Metsähallitus tarjoaa kaksi projektia, joiden ytimessä on luonnon tuominen ihmisten lähelle avoimen datan avulla.
*My Local Nature -projektissa halutaan selvittää, voidaanko paikallisten luontokohteiden käyttöä kasvattaa ja hyödyntää ihmisten
hyvinvoinnissa ja voidaanko näiden luontokohteiden ylläpitoa parantaa joukkoistamalla tietoa ihmisten ja eri tietojärjestelmien kautta?
*Nature as Every Children's Godfather - projektissa on tarkoituksena suunnitella, kuinka Eräkummi-hankkeessa nuorten kiinnostusta
luontoa kohtaan voidaan kasvattaa ja kuinka Metsähallitus voi ymmärtää paremmin nuorten tarpeita luonnon näkökulmasta.
Oulun kaupunki
Oulun kaupunki tarjoaa kaksi projektia, joiden ytimessä on asukkaiden hyvinvoinnin parantaminen.
*Living and Breathing Data in Wellbeing -projektissa kaupunki
tarjoaa avoimen pääsyn kaupungissa kerättyyn dataan ja tarkoituksena on miettiä, miten tätä dataa voidaan käyttää kaupungin asukkaiden hyvinvoinnin parantamiseen erilaisten palvelujen tms. kautta.
*Living and Breating Idea Accelerator -projektissa kaupunki
haluaa löytää uusia keinoja, joiden avulla kaupungin työntekijöitä ja asukkaita voidaan osallistaa palvelujen ja hyvinvoinnin kehittämiseen. Tarkoituksena on muokata niin kaupungin päätöksistä vastaavaa organisaatiota kuin myös osallistaa kuntalaisia mukaan
tekemään ja tuottamaan heidän tarvitsemiaan palveluja yhdessä kaupungin kanssa.
Transtech – Smart Tram
*Suomalainen raitiovaunujen
valmistaja Transtech haluaa viedä raitiovaunut uudelle vuosisadalle ja tuoda ne osaksi kaupunkien infrastruktuuria. Mitä tämä tarkoittaisi matkustajien ja kaupunkien näkökulmasta? Mitä kaikkea muuta raitiovaunu voi olla kuin kulkuväline?
CCSN – Psychological Wellbeing through Mobile Means
*Yalen yliopistoon linkittynyt CCSN (Center for Children with Special Needs) on lasten psykiatrisiin hoitoihin erikoistunut terapiayritys, joka
haluaa kehittää kehittyvissä maissa olevien lasten psykiatristen ongelmien hoitoa mobiililaitteiden avulla ja täten parantaa heidän elämänlaatuaan. Tiimin tehtävänä on rakentaa prototyyppi mobiili- ja terveydenhuoltopalvelulle Nepaliin, jonka avulla psykiatrisia
palveluita voidaan tarjota mobiilisti alueilla, joissa langaton tiedonsiirto yms. ei ole teollisuusmaiden tasolla.

Demola is looking for talented students for our Spring 2018 projects. Demola offers students a unique opportunity to
add some real-life twist into the conventional path towards a career. At Demola, you will work in a project with a multidisciplinary team solving real-life cases together with partner companies. And yes, it’s all part of your degree program.

Finnish Forestry Agency
Finnish Forestry Agency is offering two projects which both center around wellbeing and bringing nature closer to people!
*My Local Nature project - Your nearest nature destinations should be the easiest places to go when
you want to enjoy and experience nature. Or are they? How can you establish an understanding of the needs and expectations of local residents, tourists and other stakeholders wanting to get nature experiences? Can local nature destinations be part of people’s
everyday lives and wellbeing? How?
*Nature as Every Children's Godfather project - More and more children and young people are growing
up in cities and urbanized areas and this means they are not as connected to nature as previous generations were. Metsähallitus wants to encourage children and young people to understand and value how precious nature is through the Eräkummi program but how
could they take into account young people's changing needs and latest technology trends such as big data and augmented reality?
City of Oulu
City of Oulu is offering two projects which both center around engaging citizens and city officials in cooperation to create better
services and increase the wellbeing of citizens.
*Living and Breathing Data in Wellbeing - Oulu’s 2020 City Strategy is aiming to create a whole portfolio of new services that
improve the wellbeing of the residents of the city of Oulu. How can Big Data be utilised in City management and service creation? How can this data be used to create new services and improve decision making, city planning etc.? How can you use the information
to battle against social challenges such as mental health problems, social exclusion etc?
*Living and Breathing Idea Accelerator - City of Oulu wants to bring together the residents, city officials and companies to engage them in co-creation of their own, better future. How can you enable different divisions of the city of Oulu and its officials
to take part in new service creation more extensively and more easily? How to harvest the best ideas from the employees / citizens / companies with an efficient process? How can we activate people to generate ideas and to communicate them to others
Transtech - Smart trams in smart cities
*Transtech
Ltd is a leading European manufacturer of trams around the world. Everything around us is now ‘smart’ – cities, schools etc. however, the opportunities around trams have not yet been fully discovered! Now they want to find out how trams could be integrated
within city infrastructure!
CCSN – Psychological Wellbeing through Mobile Means
*Create a concept for a digital mobile platform to provide content to historically under-served groups to help them address the needs
of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disabilities in their communities. The Center for Children with Special Needs & The Center for Independence (closely linked with Yale University) is an interdisciplinary clinic
specializing in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with complex developmental disabilities.
