We
will start the program of going to schools to talk about
biochemistry.
Begin
with making a list of possible schools in Oulu and the towns where students (who
would like to participate) come from.
Contact the teachers to make a final
list.
See
how many students and how many staff members are willing.
I see
no problem in that department pays the travel for students to go to their former
school (every new applicant we get who will evetually graduate from us will
bring the investment back many times), and there is also the "third duty" of the
university that this fits in.
Staff
members and students could share the work load if there are many schools to
visit.
Maybe
a good idea, at least to schools in Oulu, that a student and a staff member go
together - one could talk about research and the other about studying and
student life. More convincing?
