Department of Food and Environmental Hygiene, University of Helsinki, invites applications for doctoral student.
The period of appointment starts from 15.6.2009 or by agreement and is for up to three years.
The research focus in this project funded by the Academy of Finland (Finnish Centre of Excellence –FcoE- in Microbial Food Safety Research) is in molecular mechanisms of Helicobacter bizzozeronii host-jump, host-adaptation and evolution. Major interest in this study is in application of genomics and molecular biological techniques on study of pathogenic bacteria. The project is performed in co-operation between research groups at University of Helsinki.
Qualified candidates should have experience in molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, transcriptomics.
