PhD studentship at Institute of Biomedicine/Pharmacology, Biomedicum, University of Helsinki, is available in a project led by docent Petri Hyytiä. The project aims to characterize brain processes associated with compulsive drug consumption and changes in brain response patterns related to pharmacotherapy using various animal models of addiction. 

 

The applicants should hold a MSc or equivalent, preferably with a background in neurobiology or pharmacology. Experience of experimental animals is required, and experience or a desire to learn small animal surgery and neuroimaging techniques is an advantage.

 

We are looking for a self-motivated person, with proficiency in spoken and written English.

The project has an initial 3-year funding from the Academy of Finland.Salary will be based on the University salary scheme for teaching and research personnel. Starting date is negotiable.
