As a part of a Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND program ‘Imaging for Future’ (I4Future, in short) coordinated by the University of Oulu, Finland,
there is a possibility for a doctoral student position in our research group. The research project will be focusing on a set of membrane and cell surface proteins from
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).
The available doctoral student position will start on January-1, 2017 and it will cover a four year period for the completion of the PhD-project.
Interested students with some expertise in molecular biology, cell biology and protein characterization techniques and a strong interest in structural biology related research are encouraged to contact Dr. Rajaram Venkatesan (rajaram.venkatesan@oulu.fi)

EU MSCA COFUND Project
Call for Early-Stage Researchers
I4Future is an International, Interdisciplinary & Inter-sectorial doctoral programme starting at the University of Oulu in Finland. It is funded by the European
Commission Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND action. I4Future now invites applications for a total of 20 four-year positions for Early-Stage Researchers that are available from 1st January 2017 until 31 December 2020. The call for applicants
opens on 1st May 2016 and closes on 31st July 2016.
The I4Future COFUND programme involves 17 Oulu University research teams, 9 international collaborative universities, 11 private and 4 public sector organizations. The I4Future research projects employ cutting edge
imaging and characterization technologies in a cross-disciplinary manner. The research in the programme can be aimed for example towards new materials, development of industrial processes, improved diagnostics, novel therapies and a better understanding of
the world we live in.
The I4Future programme offers an inspiring, multidisciplinary research atmosphere, well-established research groups, world-class supervision and a wealth of secondments that will be conducted with our industrial
and international academic partners. The doctoral programme can be expected to offer fundamental knowledge, interdisciplinary skills on modern imaging and characterisation methods.
