Ph.D. student position is available in a research group studying genetics of prostate cancer by Professor Johanna Schleutker at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Genetics, Institute of Biomedicine, University of Turku. The position will be initially filled until 31.12.2013 with an option to extension.
The Research focuses on characterizing genetic basis of prostate cancer susceptibility, especially on genetics variants and mutations leading to lethal outcome of the disease. A strong motivation for completing a PhD thesis, suitable background on the field of biomedicine / molecular biology / genetics and a successful track record is required for the PhD. student.
The salary is in accordance with the University salary system for teaching and research personnel, levels 1-4, where the position-specific salary component is 1 767,97-2 432,20 euros per month. In addition, there is a component based on personal performance, which is at most 46.3 % of the position-specific salary.
