Illat pimenevät ja ulos ei kannata mennä, mikäpä siis olisikaan sen parempi tapa viettää aikaa kuin lanittamalla yliopistolla. Tule yksin tai porukalla pitämään hauskaa ja pelailemaan. Blankon lanit järjestetään yliopistolla luokassa IT112 15.11. klo 18:00 - 17.11. klo 10:00. Ilmoittautuminen laneille on auki osoitteessa http://blanko.pingtimeout.net/lanit/. Hintaa laneille tulee vaivaiset 5e ja lisäeurolla saat juoda koko tapahtuman ajan kahvia. Lanit ovat avoimet kaikille yliopistossa ja AMK:ssa opiskeleville. Compoina laneilla on Call of Duty 4, Flatout 2 sekä mahdollisesti myös muita. Paikalla on myös mahdollista pelata tanssimattopelejä.

Laneille ilmoittautuja sitoutuu noudattamaan hyviä käytöstapoja sekä seuraavia sääntöjä. Säännöillä halutaan taata hyvä lanihenki sekä luoda tapahtumasta miellyttävä kokemus jokaiselle osallistujalle. 1 § Älä ole idiootti 2 § Tapahtumassa noudatetaan Suomen lakia sekä Oulun yliopiston järjestyssääntöjä 3 § Älä nauti tapahtumapaikalla alkoholipitoisia juomia tahi ruokia. Älä myöskään saavu paikalle päihtyneenä tai huumausaineiden vaikutuksen alaisena. Päihtyneet henkilöt poistetaan tapahtumapaikalta välittömästi 4 § Tapahtuma järjetetään salissa IT112, joten muissa yliopiston tiloissa liikkumista tulee välttää yöaikaan. 5 § Sisätiloissa tupakointi on kielletty. Tupakointi tapahtuu sille merkityillä paikoilla. 6 § Älä sotke tahi roskita luokkatilaa, käytäviä, auloja, tupakkapaikkaa tahi muita yliopiston tiloja. Roskat tulee saattaa niille varattuihin pusseihin ja koreihin. 7 § Älä varasta 8 § Vaikka siltä tuntuisikin, yliopisto ei ole koti. Älä siis yövy tahi majoitu yliopiston tiloihin tapahtuman ajaksi. Akuuttia unenpuutetta tulee hoitaa kotona omassa sängyssä. 9 § Älä käytä Internet-yhteyttä tekijänoikeuslailla suojatun materiaalin lataamiseen tahi jakamiseen. 10 § Ole fiksu ja filmaattinen ja seuraa nykyaikaa: tuo mukanasi rj45-verkkojohto, jolla on riittävä ulottuvuus myös silloin, kun lähin kytkin sijaitsee 10 metrin päässä konepaikastasi. Turvaa sähkönsaantisi omalla jakopistokkeella, jossa on paikkoja jokaiselle töpselillesi. Älä myöskään hae museosta wanhaa putkinäyttöä viemään arvokasta pöytätilaasi. Älä myöskään ota mukaan kaiuttimia, vaan käytä kuulokkeita. 11 § Mikäli säännöissä tahi käytännön järjestelyissä on epäselvyyttä, konsultoi järjestäjiä, jotka tapahtuman aikana tunnistaa keltaisesta rannenauhasta. 12 § Järjestäjien sana on laki. Aina. Järjestäjillä on ylivalta saattaa häiritsevästi käyttäytyvät henkilöt pois tapahtumapaikalta 13 § Hän, joka näitä sääntöjä rikkoo, voidaan poistaa tapahtumapaikalta kesken tapahtuman. Lievemmissä tapauksissa järjestäjät voivat kollektiivisella päätöksellä langettaa sääntörikkojalle asianmukaisen rangaistuksen. 14 § Pidä hauskaa. Tapahtumassa ei kuulu näyttää ilkeämielisen hapanta naamaa. Kuitenkin pelien tiimellyksessä on sallittua antaa suoraa ja välitöntä palautetta kanssapelaajille.

Evenings become darker and there is no use going outside. So, what a better way to spend time than to have a LAN party at the university! Come by yourself, or as a group, to have fun and games. Blanko's LAN party will be held in the university at room IT112, starting at 18 o'clock on 15th November, lasting until 10 o'clock on 17th November. Registration for the LAN party is open at http://blanko.pingtimeout.net/lanit/. The price for participating will be measly 5 euro, and if you pay one euro extra, you get to enjoy coffee for the entire length of the LAN party. The LAN party is open for all university students and university of applied sciences students. Compos for the LAN will be Call of Duty 4, Flatout 2 and possibly other games as well. It is possible to play dancing games on site, as well.

Here are the official rules for the LAN party:
1 § Don't be an idiot 2 § The event obeys Finnish law and Oulu University rules. 3 § Do not consume alcoholic beverages or foods at the event. Don't come intoxicated. Intoxicated people will be removed from the premises immediately. 4 § The event will be held in lecture hall IT112, so one should avoid moving in other areas during night time. 5 § Smoking indoors is prohibited. Smoke only at places where smoking is allowed. 6 § Don't litter the lecture hall, corridors, lobbies, the smoking area, or other places within the university premises. Put any trash to the garbage bags or baskets meant for them. 7 § Do not steal 8 § Even if it were to feel like it, the university is not a home. Do not sleep over. Acute cases of sleep deprivation should be treated at home, at one's own bed. 9 § Do not use the Internet connection to download or share materials protected by the copyright laws. 10 § Be smart and bring with you a rj-45 network cable, with long enough a reach for when the closest hub is more than 10 metres away. Secure your power-access by having your own extension cords and/or distribution box for all your plugs. Don't bring bulky old-school screens to take all your precious table space. Don't bring loud-speakers - use headphones instead. 11 § If something remains unclear with the rules or practice, consult the organizers of the event, which you can identify for carrying a yellow wristband. 12 § The word of the organizer is the law. Always. The organizers have the overpower to escort disturbant people off the premises. 13 § The person who breaks these rules can be removed from the premises during the event. For lesser offences, the organizers may, collectively deciding, pass a suitable punishment for rulebreakers. 14 § Have fun. One is not meant to show maliciously sour countenances at the event. It is permissible to give straight and imminent feedback to your fellow players.
