Engineer for the Cell Imaging Core at Turku Centre for Biotechnology,
University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University
Turku
Centre for Biotechnology has an opening for a project engineer in cell imaging
to take care of the microscopy section of the Cell Imaging Core from May 2010
to July 2011. The Cell Imaging Core is a multi-user facility that provides
microscopy and flow cytometry facilities to the academic and industrial
research community. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily
operation of the microscopy unit. Main duties include user support and
equipment maintenance. Our technology
platfo
rm consists of a variety of confocal and widefield instruments including high
resolution microcoscopy (Leica STED), stereo microscopy, laser dissection.
Experience in microscopy is essential and first-hand knowledge of timelapse
imaging, photobleaching and photoactivation as well as image analysis is
desirable.
A
primary degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) or a Ph.D. in a field of biosciences is
required. The salary is in accordance with the university salary system (for
general staff) level 7-9, where the work specific salary component is between
2040 - 2658€ per month depending on qualifications.
In
addition, there is a share increase based on the personal performance, which is
at most 46% of the base salary. Applications (CV including 2 referees
