PhD Student position: Novel mechanisms regulating expression of G protein-coupled receptors Institute of Biomedicine/Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, University of Oulu The GPCRs Research Team is looking for highly motivated and ambitious applicants for a PhD studentship to joint an on-going project that investigates novel molecular mechanisms that regulate expression of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). A successful applicant will join a team of students investigating biosynthesis and trafficking of opioid receptors. For more information, check our web site at http://www.oulu.fi/gpcrs/ . Applicants qualifying for postgraduate studies will be considered, holding an academic degree (M.Sc., MD or equivalent) in biochemistry, biology or biomedicine. Experience in basic molecular and cell biological methods as well as in protein biochemistry is an advantage. We make use of techniques such as cell culture, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, mutagenesis, Western blotting and immunoprecipitation. The position is funded by the Academy of Finland for a period of up to 4 years, starting in 2009. The position is available immediately but applicants will be considered until the end of March 2009. The salary is based on the University of Oulu salary system and depends on qualifications. We are also welcoming undergraduate students for pro gradu-studies at any time.
