Interested in contemporary Asia? Want to deepen your understanding of the complexities of Asia? Plan to make a career in Asia? Yes!

Well, then it’s time to check out the Asianet courses at asianet.fi, where you will find a wide array of online courses on contemporary East Asia. Our courses range from Chinese politics to Korean pop culture. The application period runs from 1.9. to 30.9.2016.

 

Our courses are arranged in three categories:

Pick the Asian Programme for an interdisciplinary introduction to Asian studies and get started on your road for success in Asia.

The Mini Minor is intended for students who can’t fit the full 25 credit Asian Programme in their studies or want to focus on a specific topic in depth.

Our Master’s Level courses offer advanced knowledge on the political, social, cultural and economic issues of Asian countries.

The Asianet courses are free for students from member universities, and for those University of Applied Sciences students whose institution endorses their fees. Others who are interested in Asian studies can take courses as self-paying independent students. Read more: http://www.asianet.fi/study-guide/

The members of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies are: Aalto University, University of Helsinki (from 1.1.2017 onwards) University of Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta University of Technology (until the end of 2016), University of Oulu, University of Tampere, University of Turku, University of Vaasa, Åbo Akademi University.

Because of changes in membership, students from Lappeenranta can take only courses arranged in autumn 2016 for free. Students from University of Helsinki can take courses arranged in 2017 for free.
