PhD student position is immediately open for dedicated scientist at the research group of Outi Monni in Biomedicum Helsinki (http://research.med.helsinki.fi/gsb/monni ). Our project focuses on identification of novel targeted agents that are effective for head and neck cancer as well as novel biomarkers that are linked with drug sensitivity. This particular project focuses on the establishment of novel preclinical 3D and clinical tissue based in vitro and ex vivo models for head and neck cancer to test drug sensitivity and define genetic determinants for drug response.

A successful candidate will have an MD/MSc degree in biology, biochemistry or equivalent and experience with basic molecular biology technologies and cell culture. Experience in working with cancer model systems is highly valued.
