Subject: [Bco] PhD Student Position in Stem Cell Biology, Oulu

 

A position is open for a motivated PhD student, or for a pro gradu student who is motivated to carry out post-graduate studies at 2010-2014.

 

The purpose of the project is to develop new methods for enrichment and characterisation of adult stem cells for therapeutic purposes. Culturing of adult bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells, antigen/antibody production and developing techniques for antibody utilization are examples of the methodologies that will be used during 

this project.

 

The research project is a joint of three different research groups at the Medical campus of the University of Oulu and Oulu University Hospital: Professor Petri Lehenkari (Department of Anatomy); Professor Olli Vuolteenaho (Department of Physiology); and Professor Juha 

Risteli (Department of Clinical Chemistry). The project includes close collaboration also with other research units and companies in Finland and it is funded by TEKES SHOK network for 4 years (SHOK = The Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation, for further
