We are looking for a PhD student for a project on the genetic background of chemosensory perceptions and preferences. The appointment lasts max. 4 years and starts at your earlier convenience, before summer. The position is funded by the University of Helsinki. The supervisors are Professor Jaakko Kaprio (University of Helsinki, Dept of Public Health) Adjunct Professor, Dr. Markus Perola (NIHW/FIMM)  and Professor Hely Tuorila (University of Helsinki, Dept of Food Technology).

 

What is expected of the PhD student

▪ MSc degree (for example in biotechnology or nutrition or other suitable area)

▪ interest in multidisciplinary approach

▪ basic knowledge of genetics and interest to develop in that area

▪ interest in developing his or her quantitative skills (in particular statistics)

▪ good personal interaction skills

▪ willingness to flexibly work on two campuses (Viikki and Meilahti/Ruskeasuo)

 

Salary based on demands level (range 1-4) and performance according to the University regulations.
