Genoscoper Laboratories collaborates with animal scientists across academia, including the University of Helsinki.

 

Genoscoper Laboratories has recently developed a unique panel test for canine inherited disorders and traits, the MyDogDNA™ testing service (www.mydogdna.com ). The test enables simultaneous screening of 200+ known disease mutations and conformational variants, combined with a genome-wide assessment of genetic diversity and population structure. Our reporting system and global real-time updated MyDogDNA™ database provides efficient tools for breeding, disease diagnostics, and research.

 

Genoscoper Laboratories is hiring a R&D Manager to expand and further develop our DNA testing services in companion animals. The R&D Manager job opening is for a scientific specialist position including the following responsibilities:

- design and quality control of DNA tests

- scientific content development related to DNA tests and online reporting database

- scientific support on customer service and marketing (e.g., trainings, articles and blog posts, breed club reports)

- coordination and reporting of clinical validation research projects

 

An ideal applicant would have:

- a PhD- or MSc-level degree in genetics, biosciences or a related field

- experience in genetic project management and analyses, including basic molecular biology laboratory methods, online genome databases, statistical tools and softwares

- basic understanding of microarray- and sequencing-based genotyping technologies

- ability to communicate fluently and clearly in written and spoken English, with both professionals and lay public

- ability to work in the meticulous, organized and traceable fashion required by a diagnostic laboratory environment

- flexibility, problem solving skills and a positive attitude
