A
Ph.D. student position is immediately available at V.-P. Jaakola's lab at the
Oulu Biocenter & Department of Biochemistry, University of Oulu (Oulu,
Finland) to understand the mechanisms of adenosine class of GPCRs ligand
binding, regulation and intracellular signaling using x-ray crystallography in
combination with various biochemical, molecular pharmacology and biophysical
techniques ( http://www.biochem.oulu.fi/tutkimus/vjaakola/
).
The applicant should be a determined team player that enjoys working in a
collaborative environment. Previous experience in structural biology, membrane
protein biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or recombinant protein expression

will be engaged in fundamental research within different projects involving
structural biology and protein biochemistry related to adenosine receptors.
Your Ph.D. research project is tailored based on your background and goals.
Salary is based on the qualifications and performance of the applicants, according
to the University of Oulu salary system. Typical Ph.D. student salary is around
1,800 - 2,200 EUR/month. Typical duration of Ph.D. training is approximately
four-to-five years.
