One Ph.D.-student position in Biochemistry, at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Åbo Akademi University, is available, starting 1.9.2016 (4 year financing). The project is led by professor J.Peter Slotte, and concerns the role of lipids for mitochondrial function, with special emphasis on the effects of ceramides for mitochondrial membrane integrity. The successful applicant should hold a M.Sc. in biochemistry, and have expertise in lipid biochemistry, mitochondrial isolation, and confocal microscopy. Self-motivation, independence, and proficiency in spoken and written English is a must. Salary will be based on Åbo Akademi University salary policy for Ph.D.-students.
