Dear all,

For new MSc students who do the new variable length Pro Gradu (or old students who want to do it) please note that the dates need to be calculated as follows:

1) The initial 30op is for the first 3 calendar months of experimental work plus the thesis writing.

2) The additional 0-30op is for additional experimental work accumulated at the rate 5op per 3 weeks full time work i.e. max 18 weeks additional

3) If the Pro Gradu goes over Christmas we assume 1 week holiday (so add a week). Note if you have more an extension can be applied for.

4) The write up is due within 1 year of the start date

This means that the shortest Pro Gradu has 3 calendar months experimental work while the longest has 3 months plus 18 weeks (plus 1 week for Xmas). This is not a full “8 calendar months”

The proposed start and end date of the experimental period plus the proposed number of credits should be included on the first page of the study plan.
