Dear all,
I have just heard that there is some widespread confusion regarding whether you can be paid during your Pro Gradu work.
In short, you CAN get paid during your Pro Gradu work, there are no rules against it.
Most groups will not pay for Pro Gradu work though as it forms part of your MSc and if asked by potential supervisors I tell them this (though I also say that Pro Gradu's abroad are sometimes partially supported financially by the host group to help cover additional expenses).
In addition, the faculty distributed training money (1600 euros with the lottery for who gets it ) CANNOT be used for Pro Gradu work, it is for training only (which means it CAN be combined with Orientation to Research work, but NOT with the Pro Gradu).
Hope this sorts out the confusion on this.
There is also some confusion about study fees. Study fees start in the Autumn term of 2012 for non-EU international students. However, ALL students who were accepted before the academic year 2012-2013 are exempt. If you are in the system already you will not have fees.
VBW,
Lloyd
