The community undoubtedly merits its ranking, but I would like to thank and particularly congratulate Lloyd for the excellent and hard work he has put into this. It is very much appreciated.

Dear all,
The research assessment exercise results were just announced. The Proteus research community was ranked in the "outstanding" category, with a score of 5.5 out of 6.
In the presentations biochemistry was highlighted as one of the university strengths and structural biology also especially highlighted - with a number of mentions about the need for the university to support infrastructure in this area.
Other areas of the new faculty were also highly ranked, with tissue homeostasis ranked in the "outstanding" category. In addition, Biocenter Oulu was highlighted as a "precious resource" for OY.
The full report will be on the university website this afternoon and contains detailed evaluation of every RC strengths and weaknesses and suggestions for them and for the university.
This is just the start of the next phase, but we have come out of the evaluation very well and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work in getting to this stage.
Best wishes,
Lloyd
