Dear all,
Following on from the changes in timetabling for the Pro Gradu work we are going to make one minor (optional) change to the Pro Gradu Thesis.
Where work has been done on a project soon after the 5 months allowed labwork period e.g. a restriction enzyme digest validation of a plasmid made during the 5 months or where the results have been obtained after the 5 months labwork has finished e.g. crystallization trials, it is not possible under the current regulations to include these results in the thesis. However, from now it is possible to add something occasionally seen in scientific papers, a “note added in proof”, where a small amount of information is added during the proof reading stage of the manuscript i.e. after acceptance. Such a “Note added in proof” can be optionally added to a Pro Gradu Thesis between the Discussion and the References. Such a section should be very short (it is only a note) and will not be included in the assessment of the thesis since it contains results obtained after the 5 month deadline.
Best wishes,
Lloyd
