Subject: [Bco] Position for a PhD student / post doc with background in molecular biology or biochemistry available at the University of Helsinki
A position for a motivated PhD student / post-doctoral fellow is available in the research group of Dr. Tomas Blom at the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Helsinki.
The research is focused on characterization of factors involved in endosomal sphingolipid trafficking (See e.g. Blom et al Traffic, 2012, 13, 1234-1243; Blom et al, Circ Res 2010, 106, 720-729. Blom and Ikonen, Curr Opin Lipidol, 2012, 23, 581-583).
The successful candidate should preferably have experience in mammalian cell culture, cloning, mutagenesis and protein expression techniques. The position will also include
advanced cell imaging and lipid analyses.
The position is funded by the Academy of Finland and starts earliest on September 2013. Salary will be paid based on experience according to the
university salary scheme for teaching and research personnel.
