Moi Histonit! / Hi Histonis! 

BiTa eli biotieteilijöiden tapaaminen on taas täällä ja järjestetään tänä vuonna Helsingissä. BiTa kokoaa kaikki Suomen biotieteilijät Helsinkiin 1.–3.4.22, ja luvassa on muun muassa approilua, excuilua, luentoja, bileitä ja verkostoitumista.  

Ilmoittautuminen tapahtuu ainejärjestön kautta eli Histonin hallitus kerää halukkaiden tiedot ja lähettää ne edelleen järjestävälle taholle. Ilmoittautuminen velvoittaa maksamaan 10e arvoisen BiTa-rannekkeen. Ilmoittautuminen on sitova eli mikäli joudut perumaan ilmoittautumisesi ilmoittautumisajan jälkeen, olet velvoitettu joko maksamaan rannekkeen tai etsimään tilallesi toisen osallistujan. Ilmoittautumiset kerätään viestin lopusta löytyvän Forms-kyselyn avulla ja vain ennen 25.2.22 klo. 12 tulleet ilmoittautumiset huomioidaan.  

Histoni ei järjestä tapahtumaan yhteiskuljetusta vaan jokaisen osallistujan on itse hoidettava itsensä Helsinkiin. Vallitsevan pandemian takia myöskään koulumajoitukset eivät ole mahdollisia, joten yöpymispaikka täytyy keksiä muualta. BiTa-tiimi pyrkii etsimään osallistujille huokeita majoitusmahdollisuuksia hotellidiilien yms. muodossa, mutta mahdollisten Helsinki-kontaktien hyödyntäminen yöpymispaikkaa etsiessä on suotavaa.  

Kyselyssä kysytään mm. järjestäjien puolesta toiveita viikonlopun excupaikasta ja hybridinä järjestettävän seminaarin osallistumisesta, jotta BiTa-tiimi osaa varata oikean määrän paikkoja. Lisäksi perustamme myöhemmin ”Histoni BiTassa” -telegram-ryhmän, joka tarjoaa tukea, turvaa ja meemejä tapahtuman lähestyessä ja sen aikana.  

BiTa-tiimi suosittelee myös mahdollisuuksien mukaan kolmannen rokotuksen ottamista ja koronapassin pitämistä päivitettynä. Lisäksi, koska tapahtuma järjestetään ajankohtaisten Helsingin alueella voimassa olevien rajoitusten mukaan, kannattaa THL:n suosituksia rokotuksiin ja muihin ohjeistuksiin liittyen seurata.

The annual meeting of bioscientists, or BiTa, is here again and will take place in Helsinki on 1.-3.4.22. The meeting brings together bioscience students from all over Finland, to listen to lectures, party, go to excursions and pub crawls, and network with one another.  

The registration is done through the guild, meaning that the board of Histoni will collect all the registrations and forward them to the organizers. By registering you are required to pay 10 euros for the BiTa-wristband, which works as a ticket for the events. The registration is binding. i.e., if you must cancel your participation after the registration period, you are obligated to either pay the 10 € or find another participant to replace you. The registrations are collected using the Forms survey found at the end of the email, and only before 12:00 on 25.2.22 made registrations are considered.  

Histoni does not arrange joint transport for the event, so every participant must find their selves to Helsinki. Also due to the pandemic, school accommodations are not possible, so a place to stay must be found elsewhere. The BiTa-team is searching for affordable accommodation for participants, but it is recommended to use any possible contacts in Helsinki when looking for a place to stay.  

The survey asks, among other things, wishes for the excursion places, and whether you wish to participate in the seminar, organized during the weekend, on-campus, or via stream. These are asked so that the organizers can book the right number of seats and tickets. We will also set up a “Histoni in BiTa” -telegram group to provide support, security, and memes before and during the event.  

The BiTa-team also recommends taking the third vaccine, if possible, and making sure your corona passport is updated. As the event is organized according to the restrictions in the Helsinki area, it is advised to follow the recommendations of THL regarding vaccinations and other guidelines.
